28 Austin Street, Newtonville, MA. Completed 2019.

68 mixed income apartments with Caffe Nero, the international bakery and cafe and Henry Bear’s Park, a toy store, as well as 90 underground parking spaces built around a 124 space municipal parking lot.

In May 2014, Austin Street Partners, a joint venture of Dinosaur Capital Partners and Oaktree Development, was selected by the City of Newton to redevelop the Austin Street Municipal Parking Lot in Newton’s village of Newtonville.

Working closely with elected officials, neighbors, and community activists, a broad coalition was formed around development of a four-story mixed-use, mixed-income community constructed modularly above an improved municipal parking lot.

After almost 18 months of public comment and public hearings, the Newton Board of Aldermen voted in December 2015 to issue a special permit for the construction of 68 apartments including 23 affordable homes, 5000 square feet of retail space, a new public plaza, a reconstructed municipal parking lot and a new 90-car underground garage to serve residents and monthly daytime parkers.
